Sinus congestion may symbolize blocked receptivity and accumulated emotional tension. It can reflect difficulty fully engaging with present experience or unresolved frustration. From the 2023 Emotion Link Reference Guide — possible emotional associations: the sinuses are linked with being irritated or irritating, with pressure, and with being critical. Viral sinus infection is linked with irritating or hostile feeling; bacterial sinus infection with irritation and hostility carrying rage. Possible purpose or secondary gain: creating pressure, or functioning better under pressure.
