Insomnia
Possible Buried Beliefs
- “If I fall asleep, I'll lose control.”
- “I can't relax---something might go wrong.”
- “Rest is unsafe or unearned.”
- “If I stop thinking, I'll have to feel.”
Healing Notes
Insomnia is not necessarily a random malfunction. It may reflect a nervous system that remains on alert, often protecting against emotional pain, trauma recall, or suppressed awareness. It can be the psyche's way of signaling that something important is being ignored. In German New Medicine, insomnia may reflect ongoing conflict involving worry, loss of territory, or unresolved fear. Louise Hay connects sleep disturbances to fear, guilt, and lack of trust in life. Biblical insight: "He gives His beloved sleep." (Psalm 127:2)
