Pneumonia may emerge following intense grief or emotional surrender. GNM associates it with shock and loss conflicts. Spiritually, it reflects retreat from life force and the invitation to choose life again. From the 2023 Emotion Link Reference Guide — possible emotional associations: pneumonia is linked with giving up and deep unresolved pain; viral pneumonia with needing a break from conflict, and bacterial pneumonia with considering giving up, overwhelm and unresolved hurts. Possible purpose or secondary gain: permission to stop and be cared for.
